Introducing – The Two-Tone Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono Day/Date

Family-owned independent watchmaking company Norqain has an adventurous spirit that is reflected in most of its collections. Names like Freedom, Adventure or Independence all resonate with the free-spirited mindset of the brand that has also been diligently building an impressive portfolio of watches! From time-and-date models to chronographs and from skeletonised models to artistic expressions, a lot is going on at Norqain. And it’s not just building good-looking watches and calling it a day either; there is some legitimate innovation from time to time represented by watches like the Wild One. Today, though, we bring you a new two-tone model of the robust Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono Day/Date.

The Adventure Sport range is one of Norqain’s most outdoor-oriented collections, with a robust 41mm stainless steel case topped with a unidirectional rotating bezel. New for the collection is this two-tone steel & gold outfit, where the steel bezel is replaced with an 18k 5N red gold bezel fitted with a black aluminium insert. The case has quite a substantial 15mm height, measured on top of the double-domed sapphire crystal. The caseback allows for a view of the movement, and the screw-down crown ensures a water-resistance of 100 meters. The steel plaque fitted to the caseband on the left side of the watch can, if you like, be personalised.

The Adventure Sport Chrono Day/Date dial is black with Norqain’s special pattern inspired by the Swiss mountains. The diamond-cut faceted indices are red gold-plated and have a luminous stripe in the middle. Surrounding the dial is a minute track in white. The sword-shaped red gold-plated central hour and minutes hand also have a Super-LumiNova insert. The gold chamfer surrounding the black sub-dials ties everything together. The central chronograph seconds hand has a triangular tip with a red outline. At three o’clock there is a double window for the day and date.

Visible through the sapphire crystal caseback is Norqain’s calibre NN17, based on the Sellita SW500 automatic chronograph movement. This runs at a frequency of 28,800vph and provides a healthy 62 hours of power reserve. It’s finished with a special Norqain rotor, although the brand has not provided an image of the reverse side of the watch.

The new Norqain Adventure Sport Chrono Day/Date offers a choice of a black rubber strap or a brushed and polished stainless steel bracelet with a folding buckle. There’s no word on limitation for this new addition to the range, and the watch retails for CHF 4,950 on the rubber strap or CHF 5,150 on the steel bracelet.
