The luxury cruise liner held a special event in London, where artworks and guest spaces on board the new ship were revealed.
Luxury Travel magazine attended a celebratory evening in London at Carlton House Terrace, where luxury cruise liner Cunard showcased some of the features that travellers will find aboard Queen Anne, the latest cruise ship that will set sail on her first voyage in 2024.
At the event, a vibrant pink backdrop served as a pop-up gallery space, where a selection of the 4,300 artworks that have been commissioned or collected for the ship were on display. Pei Chi Lee, John Biggs, and Tommy Camerno are some of the artists who have created a variety of pieces, including Camerno’s portrait of Queen Anne that will be a fixture of the Queen’s room.
Designed by Richmond International, guests got a taste of Queen Anne’s new venue Bright Lights Society, which will host experiences and a curated programme of entertainment, ensuring no two nights are the same.
Designers who have worked on the concept for the new ship were also in attendance, including David Collins Studio, Richmond International, and Sybille de Margerie. The inspiration behind the design is said to have been influenced by Cunard’s extensive archives, with interiors showcasing the Art Deco style that the luxury cruise liner has become known for.
Cunard Acting Senior Vice President, Angus Struthers, said “Tonight, you started your journey at sunset and travelled through a sensory experience before viewing a one-of-a-kind art gallery showcasing a selection from the 4,300 never seen before pieces of artwork and sculptures that have been curated for Queen Anne. We have been working with more than 3,000 artists and designers and are proud to continue our work championing contemporary artists…It just leaves me to thank our world-leading designers and brand partners as they continue to refine the Cunard signatures and craft a collection of exciting new Queen Anne venues and experiences.”
